Fitting the cone

  1. Peel off the old cone and remove any glue residue.
  2. Lightly sand the base of the cone and the tube area, then degrease both surfaces with solvent.
  3. On a Hypalon or neoprene tube, apply two thin coats of ORCA Glue mixed with RFE hardener to both surfaces, letting each coat dry.
  4. Position the cone, press firmly over the whole glued surface and leave to dry before re-inflating the tube.

Full details are in our ORCA gluing guide (PDF, in French). Would you rather have it fitted? See our repair partners.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference with the Premium 9021?

The Millennium 9016 is slightly smaller (Ø 165/125 mm against Ø 180/215 mm for the Premium 9021), with the same 40 mm height. It also comes in dark grey, which the Premium does not.

Does the cone resist sun and seawater?

Yes. EPDM is a synthetic rubber that resists UV, ozone and salt water, without drying out or cracking in the sun.

Can it be fitted on a PVC tube?

Our ORCA Glue is designed for Hypalon and neoprene tubes. A PVC tube needs a PVC-compatible glue: contact us before ordering.
