Shmuffex by Blue Marine is a mould stain remover for inflatable boats, RIBs and tenders. It removes black mould and fungus stains from the tubes, and also from PVC, fibreglass and vinyl upholstery. Approved by ORCA, it is especially useful after winter storage or storage in a damp place.
- What for: mould and fungus stains (black spots) on the tubes.
- Surfaces: rubber (Hypalon and neoprene tubes), PVC, fibreglass, vinyl upholstery.
- Avoid: fabrics and textiles (covers, canvas cushions), which hypochlorite can damage.
- Contact time: up to 1 hour on old stains.

How to use
- First clean the tube with New Magic to remove any dirt that is not mould.
- Spray Shmuffex directly onto the stains.
- Leave it to work until the stains disappear. Allow up to an hour on old or widespread stains.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- If marks remain, repeat. Once the tube is dry, protect it with Gumemp100.
Precautions
- Shmuffex contains sodium hypochlorite (the active ingredient in bleach): protect your clothes and do not use it on fabrics.
- Do not mix it with any other product, especially an acidic one.
- Wear gloves and rinse the treated area well.
Which cleaning product should I choose?
Clean first, treat mould if needed, then protect the tube once it is dry. The Blue Marine and Nautic Clean ranges follow the same logic.

Frequently asked questions
How do I remove black stains from a RIB tube?
These black spots are most often mould. Clean the tube, spray Shmuffex on the stains, leave it to work for up to an hour, then rinse. Repeat if needed.
Can it be used on upholstery or covers?
On vinyl upholstery, yes. On fabrics (covers, canvas cushions), no: hypochlorite can bleach or damage them.
How do I stop mould coming back?
