Two-part neoprene adhesive for Hypalon tubes

A two-part adhesive combines a neoprene glue and a hardener, mixed just before use. The hardener improves the adhesion and water resistance of the joint: this is essential on a tube that stays under pressure, in the sun and in salt water.

This glue + hardener pair is used to bond ORCA fabrics, repair patches and rubber accessories: rubbing strakes, handles, cones and rope guides.

Which product should I choose?

Hardener dosage

Add 5 to 10% ORCA RFE hardener to the volume of ORCA Glue. From 10 litres of mixed glue, you can reduce to 5% to extend the pot life of the mix.

Gluing Hypalon fabric properly

1. Clean the area, for example with New Magic degreaser, to remove salt, grease and old waxes.
2. Prepare the surfaces as described in the ORCA gluing guide (PDF, in French). NB (Non Buffing) fabrics bond without sanding.
3. Mix the glue and hardener just before use, then apply the coats, respecting the drying times in the guide.
4. Join the parts, press firmly over the whole surface and wait for the time given before re-inflating the tube.

Frequently asked questions

Which glue should I use for a Hypalon tube?

A two-part neoprene adhesive, such as ORCA Glue mixed with RFE hardener. PVC glues and "universal" glues are not suitable for Hypalon.

Can ORCA Glue be used without hardener?

No. ORCA Glue is a two-part adhesive: it must be activated with RFE hardener to reach its full adhesion.

Is this glue suitable for a PVC tube?

It is designed for Hypalon and neoprene. A PVC tube needs a PVC-compatible glue: contact us before ordering.

How much hardener for 1 litre of glue?

Between 50 and 100 ml, i.e. 5 to 10% of the glue volume.
