ABOUT THIS ITEM

The Classic 9017 cone by CEREDI Nautica is the intermediate-size tube end cone in our range: Ø 230/200 mm and 45 mm high. It is the model to choose when the Millennium or Premium are too small for the end of your tube, without going up to the Maxi Premium. Moulded in EPDM, it replaces a worn cone and gives lasting protection to the tip of the tube.

  • Who for: owners of RIBs and tenders, boatyards and repairers.
  • What for: replacing a worn, unstuck or split tube cone, or finishing the end of a new tube.
  • Dimensions: Ø 230/200 mm, height 45 mm (manufacturer's dimensions).
  • Colours: black (RAL 9005), light grey (RAL 7035) and dark grey (RAL 7046).
  • Material: EPDM resistant to UV and seawater, made in Italy.
  • Intermediate size, taller (45 mm) than the compact models.
  • 3 colours: black, light grey RAL 7035 and dark grey RAL 7046.

Fitting the cone

  1. Peel off the old cone and remove any glue residue.
  2. Lightly sand the base of the cone and the tube area, then degrease both surfaces with solvent.
  3. On a Hypalon or neoprene tube, apply two thin coats of ORCA Glue mixed with RFE hardener to both surfaces, letting each coat dry.
  4. Position the cone, press firmly over the whole glued surface and leave to dry before re-inflating the tube.

Full details are in our ORCA gluing guide (PDF, in French). Would you rather have it fitted? See our repair partners.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference with the Maxi Premium 9019?

The Classic 9017 measures Ø 230/200 mm, the Maxi Premium 9019 Ø 290/330 mm. Both are 45 mm high. If your old cone is clearly larger than 230 mm, look at the Maxi Premium.

Does the cone resist sun and seawater?

Yes. EPDM is a synthetic rubber that resists UV, ozone and salt water, without drying out or cracking in the sun.

Can it be fitted on a PVC tube?

Our ORCA Glue is designed for Hypalon and neoprene tubes. A PVC tube needs a PVC-compatible glue: contact us before ordering.
