Maintaining RIB tubes: clean, treat, protect
Salt, UV, grease and mould gradually attack the tube fabric and its glued seams. Maintenance always follows three steps: clean, treat mould if needed, then protect the tube once it is dry.

Are these products suitable for a PVC tube?
Yes. Blue Marine and Nautic Clean products are suitable for Hypalon, neoprene (including ORCA fabrics) and PVC.
How do I remove black stains from a tube?
They are usually mould. Clean the tube, then treat the stains with Shmuffex and rinse. Advice: how to avoid mould.
Should the tube be cleaned before a repair?
Yes. A degreaser such as New Magic removes salt, grease, old waxes and silicones before gluing with the neoprene glue + hardener kit.
