  • Colours and lengths: black on a 60 m reel, or Neptune grey on 2 reels of 25 m.
  • Profile: 135 × 36 mm, 1.44 kg per metre.

  • For a boatyard: contact us for professional quantities.

Fitting a rubbing strake

  1. Measure the length of tube to be fitted on each side and add the two together.
  2. Remove the old strake if needed, then clean and degrease the tube, for example with New Magic.
  3. Bond it with ORCA® Glue neoprene adhesive mixed with RFE hardener, or with the glue + hardener kit, following the ORCA gluing guide (PDF, in French).
  4. Press firmly along the whole length and leave to dry before going afloat.

For the most exposed areas (front of the tube, diver entry points), add an ORCA® TECH 288 reinforcement sheet.

Frequently asked questions

Shark or Tunnel?

The Shark (90 mm) suits leisure RIBs and tenders. The Tunnel (135 mm), thicker and heavier, is made for large RIBs and intensive use.

Is the grey version supplied in a single length?

No, it comes on 2 reels of 25 m, 50 m in total.

Which glue should I use to fit the strake?

With a two-part neoprene adhesive: ORCA® Glue and its RFE hardener, or the glue + hardener kit. PVC glues and "universal" glues are not suitable for Hypalon.

Can it be glued to a PVC tube?

It is designed for Hypalon (CSM/CR) tubes and is bonded with neoprene adhesive. For a PVC tube, contact us before ordering.

The whole range is in our rubbing strakes for RIBs collection.
